The IDNYC is a free government-issued photo ID card for people living in NYC. Your IDNYC can help you access city services, benefits, and free memberships at museums and zoos in all five boroughs.
Who can get an IDNYC?
Anyone over the age of 14 who lives in NYC can get an IDNYC. Immigration status does not matter.
How to Apply
You’ll need to have some documents to get an IDNYC. There are different types of documents you can use, including a passport, bills, and more. Find out which work best for you.
You will also need to fill out an application. You can pick up an application when you apply for an ID, or download one now and fill it out in advance.
Benefits and Memberships
Having an IDNYC helps you access many City services and programs. In 2016 it also lets you get a free membership at up to 40 museums and cultural institutions during the calendar year. These include the Bronx Zoo, the Museum of Modern Art, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Public Theater. You also get discounts at the YMCA, some theater tickets, and more.
Some banks will let you open an account with your IDNYC. You can also use it as a library card at any library in NYC.
